Build Institute is launching a new Innovation Hub at The Corner, located across Michigan Avenue from Ford’s new Detroit campus in Corktown. This community space for entrepreneurs will include a combination of classrooms, private offices, co-working, and event space specifically designed to bring makers, dreamers, and founders together to connect, collaborate, and create new opportunity throughout southeast Michigan.
Over the last five years, with less than $1M in funding, BUILD has impacted Detroit’s entrepreneurial community in a significant way. With over 1,700 graduates to date, 350 businesses have been launched or strengthened by the programs, resources, and community that it offers to aspiring and growing entrepreneurs alike. Additionally, those companies have created more than 500 jobs.
As a small non-profit startup itself, BUILD is seeking to formalize new partnerships with organizations who are equally committed to inclusive and equitable entrepreneurship. At present, we’re excited to be working on a $50K Patronicity matching grant provided by the MEDC.
To that end, we’d like to explore whether you would be interested and willing to support BUILD’s work as a Founding Partner.

Not only would your organization be supporting a great organization doing incredible work, such a partnership would also showcase your commitment to diversity, entrepreneurship, and provide the company with great brand exposure while demonstrating your corporate social responsibility and ongoing support of Detroit’s revitalization.
