Access to Capital Workshop

Join us for an evening of networking, coaching, and education at the Access to Capital Workshop presented in partnership with CIBC Bank and the National Microloan Conference! This workshop will features two sessions – “Finance Your Business” by Marilyn Lawrence, Associate Managing Director at CIBC, and “How to Successfully Apply for a Microloan” by Warren Galloway, President and CEO of the National Microloan Conference. 

BUILD Basics for Older Adults (55+, Detroit or Highland Park Residents)

BUILD is excited to continue our partnership with the St. Patrick Senior Center to offer 2 more FREE cohorts of our BUILD Basics course for older adults ages 55 and over. BUILD Basics is an immersive 8-week business development course focused on writing (or re-writing) your comprehensive business plan. 

Two cohorts to choose from:

SPSC Cohort #2 (Monday Evenings)
SPSC Cohort #3 (Tuesday Afternoons)

BUILD Basics for Older Adults in partnership with the St. Patrick Senior Center is free for accepted applicants who are 55 years of age or older and residents of Detroit or Highland Park. Qualified applicants will be accepted on a first come, first served basis so don’t delay – apply today!

BUILD Master Class - Email Marketing

This Master Class will help entrepreneurs understand the fundamentals of email marketing and how to utilize email marketing to grow their business and increase sales. Facilitated by small business marketing expert Cierra Seay, participants will leave with the tools and knowledge necessary to understand best practices in email marketing and how to implement email marketing in their small business. 

PNC Workshop - Small Business Financial Emergencies

In this workshop, business owners will learn about types of financial emergencies that can occur and how these emergencies can impact their businesses. Participants will learn strategies they can use to protect themselves from financial emergencies before they occur as well as how to prepare for financial emergencies by creating a personalized financial plan. Participants will learn how to:

  • Understand the risks small businesses may face during a financial emergency.
  • Prepare for financial emergencies by creating a personalized plan.
  • Seek out and access resources provided specifically for small businesses.
